Beta: Smart Voicemail is a beta feature and may change.
Every Smart Voicemail is tagged with a category — a colour-coded badge in the Inbox showing what the call was about. For an overview of the feature, see Smart Voicemail: what it is and how it helps.
There are eight categories:
- New Enquiry — someone reaching out for the first time, usually asking about your service or pricing
- Complaint — the caller is unhappy about something and likely needs a follow-up
- Urgent — the caller flagged something time-sensitive
- Callback — the caller asked to be called back
- Follow Up — a continuation of an earlier conversation or job
- Spam — likely junk: cold calls, automated messages, scams
- Wrong Number — the caller dialled the wrong number
- General — anything that doesn't fit one of the above
How categories are picked
Categories are assigned automatically based on the voicemail content. The summary and full transcript are on the same row — click the transcript icon to expand them. See What's in your Smart Voicemail Inbox.
If a category looks wrong
Categories are a best guess, not the final word. Check the full transcript and summary — they're the source of truth, not the badge. To disable Smart Voicemail for a number, see Turn Smart Voicemail on or off.
